DESCRIPTION
Cedarwood essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of parts of the Cedrus Deodara tree. The oil is pale yellow in color. It has a pleasant fresh, woody aroma.
Over the centuries, cedarwood essential oil has been used by various cultures, such as Native American and Tibetan communities, to relieve mild to severe ailments. Cedar oil is also known to relax the body and mind, making it ideal for use in religious ceremonies and spiritual practices. To this day, it is used for such applications as well as for cosmetic purposes.
Used cosmetically on the skin, cedarwood essential oil helps soothe irritation, redness and itching, as well as dryness that leads to cracking, flaking or blistering. Cedarwood oil is also known to protect the skin from pollutants and toxins from the environment, thus helping to prevent or reduce the chances of breakouts.
Cedarwood essential oil combines well with other essential oils such as ylang ylang, sweet orange, bergamot, juniper, patchouli, geranium, grapefruit, lemon, sandalwood, vetiver, ginger, lavender and incense.

SUGGESTED USE
To treat existing pimples, as well as reduce the possibility of new ones, add a few drops of cedarwood oil to your standard cream or lotion or to a light base vegetable oil such as pomegranate, hempseed, and jojoba.
For hair loss, a combination of several essential oils is recommended – cedarwood, thyme, lavender or rosemary. They are diluted in base oil and the resulting mixture is applied to the scalp by light massage movements and left on for at least half an hour, then washed off.
To soothe asthma, coughs and other types of discomfort that make breathing difficult, add a few drops of cedarwood essential oil to a diffuser. It is known that deep inhalation of its aroma helps to breathe easier and promotes better sleep. Another option for relieving such symptoms is by massaging the throat and chest area with cedarwood essential oil, pre-diluted in base oil.
