EYE CARE

Organic Eye Cream from Alteya Organics

The first signs of aging often appear in the area around the eyes. This is why skin care in this zone is crucial....

When should you start using an eye cream?

When it comes to skin care, starting early is key. Many women start using eye cream in their 30s when they notice changes in the eye area. Although, you can start using eye cream as early as your 20s. The best results are achieved through prevention.

Many people wonder why an eye cream is necessary at all. Can't you use a face cream for the eye area? In principle, it's possible, but eye cream is specially formulated to meet the needs of the sensitive skin around the eyes, which is very different from the rest of the face.

The skin around the eyes is 10 times thinner than the rest of the face. It's much more sensitive, tends to dry out and wrinkles easily. It's also more susceptible to environmental damage. For this reason, a special eye cream is of the utmost importance.

Unlike the rest of the face, the skin around the eyes receives much less natural moisture from sebum. Therefore, it is a good idea to moisturize it with an eye cream.

Eye creams are designed to combat the signs of aging while respecting the delicate nature of this area. This type of product is applied near the eye, so its development aims to minimize the possibility of eye irritation in the event of accidental contact.

A quality eye cream should contain effective antioxidants, which are important to protect the skin from accelerated aging caused by unfavorable environmental factors.

The right eye cream can help reduce puffiness in the eye area. This area acts like a mirror. It reflects stress, lack of sleep, dietary changes, illness and more. An effective eye cream addressing these problems should contain ingredients that help tighten blood vessels, improve drainage and therefore reduce the appearance of puffiness.
brEye creams intended to reduce dark circles under the eyes typically contain active ingredients that: - moisturize, plump the skin, and reduce its transparency; - brighten by accelerating microcirculation; - stimulate collagen and elastin production;

How to apply eye cream correctly?

How to apply eye cream correctly?

1. Scoop up a pea-sized amount of eye cream with your ring finger.
Eye cream is usually highly concentrated, so a very small amount is sufficient for both eyes. The ring finger naturally applies the lightest touch, making it suitable for this delicate area. It's important to avoid applying too much pressure to the skin.

2. Gently tap small dots of eye cream under your eyes, starting in the innermost corner and moving outward.

3. Spread the eye cream in a semi-circular motion using gentle tapping movements to stimulate blood circulation until the product has been absorbed into the skin. Take care not to pull or stretch the skin when applying.

4. Make sure that the eye cream doesn't get directly into the eyes, as this can cause irritation.

5. Wait at least 90 seconds after applying the eye cream before applying concealer or any other products. This will allow the eye cream to be fully absorbed and for the active ingredients to take effect.

What is the correct order for using eye cream with other facial skincare products?

What is the correct order for using eye cream with other facial skincare products?

It is advisable to use eye cream before face cream, as it is important for the eye cream to absorb deeply prior to applying other products.

However, eye cream can also be applied after a face serum, as serums generally have a lighter, more fluid texture and are quickly absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin.

If the eye cream does not contain sunscreen, it is recommended to apply sunscreen (preferably with a physical filter) after the eye cream as the final layer on the facial skin.

When should we use eye cream – in the morning, evening, or both?

When should we use eye cream – in the morning, evening, or both?

As mentioned, the skin around the eyes receives minimal natural hydration, so the best approach is to use eye cream both in the morning and evening.

However, some people find their skin feeling oilier, especially during the summer, and prefer not to apply heavy products in the morning. In such cases, it’s a good idea to use a lighter eye cream in the morning and a richer formula in the evening.

During the summer, it is also acceptable to apply eye cream only in the evening.

Eye cream or eye gel?

The primary difference between these two products is their texture. Eye creams typically have a thicker, richer consistency, while gels are lighter.

Both eye creams and gels should contain active ingredients that protect the delicate skin around the eyes from environmental damage and the aging process.

Eye gels are ideal for morning use – they smooth and refresh the skin. Their lighter texture makes them a great base for makeup.

For your evening skincare routine, it's better to use an eye cream. It works actively during your nighttime rest. If you prefer to use eye cream in the morning as well, just apply a smaller amount, and don't forget to follow up with sunscreen.
